Kristin “KK” Koetting, Ph.D.
(former Kristin Koetting “KK” O’Byrne, Ph.D.)  received her bachelor’s degree wit
h honors in psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).  Her research and expertise in health psychology and positive psychology appears in dozens of the most prestigious peer-reviewed medical and psychological journals such as Health Psychology, Clinics in Family Medicine, Endocrine, Journal of Adolescent Health, Pediatrics and The Counseling Psychologist, to name a few.  Additionally, Dr. Koetting has published two treatment manuals, and numerous book/encyclopedia chapters in books such as The Encyclopedia of Positive Psychology, Positive Psychological Assessment, Obesity, Growth and Development, and the forthcoming book Courage. In addition to being a well-published author, Dr. Koetting is also an experienced clinician, consultant, speaker, and instructor. Dr. Koetting has taught hundreds of students at the bachelors, masters and doctoral levels.  

Dr. Koetting is the recipient of numerous fellowships, teaching awards and grants, notably the national Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year Award, Distinguished Dissertation Fellowship, and Kemper Fellowship.  She has contributed her editorial talents to scientific journals such as the Journal of Positive Psychology, Journal of Counseling Psychology, and Health Psychology.  A former professor on the tenure-track, Dr. Koetting now puts her expertise in psychology into practice at Wellness & Well-being Solutions, LLC, and shares her passion and knowledge through teaching at Rockhurst University, and her literary and entrpreneurial ventures (stay tuned).
